Rainbow Run 2026

Hi, I'm taking part in Rainbow Run on Saturday 6th June to raise funds for St Wilfrid's Hospice

St Wilfrid’s Hospice provides high-quality care and support for people across Eastbourne, Seaford, Hailsham, Uckfield, Heathfield (and all points in between) with life-limiting illnesses.

The hospice's expert teams support the physical, emotional, psychological, spiritual and practical needs of patients, and their families and carers. This is in the hospice building, in patients’ own homes and in local care homes.

At a time when running costs are higher than the hospice's income, our support is more important than ever. Less than 30% of the funds needed to provide the hospice's services comes from the NHS – meaning they count on the community to help with funding the rest.

Every donation helps to provide vital end of life care for local people, so please do consider donating to my Rainbow Run fundraising page.

Why I do the Rainbow Run

Thursday 30th Apr

I am taking part in the Rainbow run again for St Wilfrid's

I would like to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart who has already sponsored me in this year's Rainbow Run for St Wilfrid's Hospice on the 6th June a charity very close to my heart .

I am sure I don't need to tell you the difference St Wilfrid's makes to patients and loved ones .

Below is the reason I run

In 2010 my late husband was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer , in 2011 he was EOL care .

The hospice helped us emotionally and financially when we felt lost , from helping us get married on the 28th April 20211 to Jons final days , sadly passing away on 12th May 2011.

In his finial 2 weeks I cared for him at home with the help and support of St Wilfrid's from 4 visits a day to someone sitting with him all night so I could sleep and rest.

I was so grateful and hoped and prayed I would never need to call them again .

Sadly in 2021 my Mum was terminally ill with lung cancer that had spread , as I am sure everyone remembers this was during Covid with all the restrictions, my mum was spending her finial days in a hospital with no visitors and nurses stretched to their limits .

Again, St Wilfrid's stepped in, and my mum spent her finial days being cared for with them and for us as a family knowing mum did not pass away alone made such a difference in an extremely difficult time.

Like many of you , we have all been affected one way or another by Cancer and I do this for everyone 💚

Thank you to my Sponsors
