Chloe, Kay, Gem and Hayley are taking part in the rainbow run on 7th June to raise funds for St Wilfrid's Hospice
Chloe Kent and Kadence Catt are running the rainbow run to raise money alongside mum, Gemma and Hayley!!
From Gemma - my husband and Chloe’s dad, Richard Kent, was cared for by St Wilfrids in the last weeks of his battle with bowel cancer in 2018.
This was a tragic time for us but St Wilfrids helped to bring a little calm to the chaos.
He was the youngest in the centre by some margin but was made to feel comfortable and cared for. The staff are all lovely and the rooms and grounds are beautiful and homely: it is essential that we do not lose this end of life provision for families like ours.
From Hayley - In 1996,Hayley's Nanny Jo was diagnosed with lung cancer and was admitted to St Wilfred's Hospice in Eastbourne where she initially received two days of day care a week and two weeks of respite care as and when required over a 18 month period.
In the final 10 days of her life she found solace and comfort thanks to all those supporting her at the hospice. She passed away peacefully and gently due to the exceptional nursing treatment provided. Compassion, care and medical professionalism given by the nurses, doctors and volunteers was unsurpassed and we expressed our deepest gratitude to everyone at St. Wilfred’s during the difficult time for the unwavering love and support they provided for her and us as a family.
To help us raise vital funds for St Wilfrid’s Hospice, please consider donating to my Rainbow Run fundraising page.
The funds raised will help the hospice to protect their services, and ensure people in the community are able to continue receiving their care, at a time when they need it most.
