Rainbow Run

Hi, I'm taking part in St Wilfrid’s Hospice’s Rainbow Run on Saturday 18th May in Memory of My Nan, Catherine Jewell

On the 17th May 2022 my world collapsed, and my nan went away to be with my grandad forever, my nan very quickly become poorly, diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer, and wanted to die at home in her own bed, together with my uncle and support from other family we made that happen! But without St Wilfred’s Hospice at Home Service we wouldn’t have managed to give my nan that last wish and keep her as comfortable as possible.

Rather than flowers at my nans funeral, she asked for a donations box for st Wilfred’s and together with the hospice I had that arranged they made a beautiful poster for the front of the box that I was then able to keep once I handed back the box of donations.

After the funeral and another few weeks passed me and my eldest daughter both done bereavement counselling down at the hospice in Eastbourne and I honestly don’t know where is be without having those sessions, my nan was my world.

St Wilfrid’s Hospice provides high-quality care and support for people across Eastbourne, Seaford, Hailsham, Uckfield, Heathfield (and all points between) with life-limiting illnesses, and any money raised will allow them to continue to provide this to the community.

If you would like to support St Wilfrid’s Hospice, please consider donating to my Rainbow Run fundraising page! All donations will be greatly appreciated, thank you!
