I'm dipping in cold water every day in March for St Wilfrid's Hospice

Throughout the whole of March, I'll be taking a cold plunge in the sea, an ice bath, a pool or a cold shower, every single day to raise vital funds for St Wilfrid's Hospice. I would be so grateful for any donation, big or small, that you can give to help me reach my target.

St Wilfrid's Hospice provides high-quality care and support for people across Eastbourne, Seaford, Hailsham, Uckfield, Healthfield, and all points between, with life-limiting illnesses. Support is offered at the hospice, in patients' own homes, and in care homes. Over 70% of the funds to provide these services come from voluntary donations. Please help me continue to support this cause.

DAY 18 Post Run Cool Down

Wednesday 18th Mar
After naughtily skipping my dips, I finally ended a short run with a low-tide cool down. There’s nothing like those waves to soothe the muscles, that sharp, cold shock is the ultimate nervous system reset, it’s the best way to transition from a sweaty run!

DAY 6

Wednesday 11th Mar
Missed adding this one on the day...building up to a groyne to groyne swim...

DAY 11

Wednesday 11th Mar
The sun was out today but the at lunch the waves looked a little high for a dip...luckily sea lanes is just nearby, which is a 50-metre 'heated' outdoor swimming pool...

The sun was setting and the temperature was 18.6°C I planned to swim at least 750 metres however it was quite cold...I managed 2 minutes before getting out as my hands went a little blue...they seem to be prone to Raynaud's

Day 10

Tuesday 10th Mar
First Brighton Sea Dip since starting the challenge...last time I was at this spot I did do a 750m swim so I'm not sure why I always feel like a chicken getting into the sea...I think a wetsuit does make a big difference!

DAY 9 🌫️ Sooooo Misty

Monday 9th Mar
Wow these misty mornings and nights will not be missed once Spring 🌱 has finally pushed it's head through... although it sometimes snows in April ❄️

Being the usual busy Monday, today's cold water challenge hasn't quite gone to plan but I will be making up for it this week don't you worry! 🧊🏊‍♀️

The collective fundraising amount is now over £5200 which is amazing news...with 20 days left to raise so much more for this great cause!

DAY 8 Eastbourne Half Marathon

Sunday 8th Mar
Today I volunteered as a Marshal for the Half Marathon so not much time to dip in the sea after yesterday's cold plunge bath at Luna Hut Sauna!

Next week's Dip a Day is moving town so stay tuned for some more sea dips and more!

DAY 7 🥶🧊 Raising the bar today!

Saturday 7th Mar
Day 7 of the St Wilfrid's Hospice Dip a Day Fundraiser. Thanks to all my sponsors to far who have kindly donated to this good cause. I'm raising the bar and the target...

🥶🚿🌊 It's been a week of cold showers and cold sea dips so far with something special lined up for today! Stay tuned and don't forget to donate! 🙏✨

DAY 4 - Another Cold Shower 🥶 🚿

Wednesday 4th Mar
A very misty day and sea was a little choppy so it's another cold shower today!

DAY 3 - First Sea Dip!

Wednesday 4th Mar
Another sunny day and the tide time at lunch was perfect for a quick sea dip!

DAY 2 - Cold Shower 🥶

Wednesday 4th Mar
It was a beautiful sunny day and it was perfect conditions for swimming but had to opt for the cold shower again due to work and volunteer commitments.

DAY 1 - Cold Shower 🥶

Wednesday 4th Mar
I would like to start off thanking all my sponsors as I've already surpassed my target 🎯 which I will increase!

I started off with a cold shower on the Sunday as I was away at a Family so so away from the sea...

Thank you to my Sponsors

Good luck Kelly. What a wonderful thing to do. I am mentoring a social work student who is on placement there at the minute and know it’s takes 26k a day to keep it running and they only get a small amount of that off the government. Love Dawn and Blair
