Im taking part in St Wilfrid’s Hospice’s Starlight Stroll in memory of my Grandad
Despite what it says above I am walking in memory of my Grandad who, at the end of his life, was supported by St Wilfrid’s Hospice. They provide high-quality care and support for people across Eastbourne, Seaford, Hailsham, Uckfield, Heathfield with life-limiting illnesses, and any money raised will allow them to continue to provide this to the community.
They were absolutely amazing at providing in home care for my Grandad and in the last few days of his life were able to give him a bed at the hospice. The nurses were all so knowledgeable and so kind. The hospice itself is a lovely place with flowers in the rooms and all rooms having a view of the garden which my Grandad would have loved.
They also helped support us as a family. We made use of their 24 hour helpline when my Grandad became distressed in the middle of the night and they have still been there for us after his death with their bereavement support. I honestly cannot thank them enough for the support they gave all of us and especially my Grandad. Helping him to be comfortable and peaceful in his last moments with us.
If you would like to support St Wilfrid’s Hospice, please consider donating to my Starlight Stroll fundraising page! All donations will be greatly appreciated, thank you!
