Beachy Head Half Marathon

Help me reach my goal of £500

I'm fundraising for St Wilfrid's Hospice

Last year I set myself a one-off challenge to run the Beachy Head 10k for my 60th birthday.  I managed that and have found myself with a new challenge this year of running the Beachy Head Half Marathon. This really is the furthest I will ever run so would like to raise some money for charity. 

I have chosen St Wilfrid's Hospice as they are really struggling for funding - it costs £22,000 a day to run, most of which is made up by donations. I lost my dad to cancer over 26 years ago and he spent his last days in St Wilfrid's, at their previous site in Mill Gap Road, and so I have experienced first hand the amazing work they do and support they provide. Working at a GP surgery also means I get to see just how much they support patients during their end of life phase and it is vital they are able to continue this work.

St Wilfrid's Hospice provides high-quality care for people across Eastbourne, Seaford, Hailsham, Uckfield, Heathfield (and all points between) with life-limiting conditions.

Their expert teams support the physical, emotional, psychological, spiritual and practical needs of patients, and their families and carers. This is done in the hospice building, in patients' own homes and in local care homes.

St Wilfrid's Hospice relies on the support of their community for 70% of their funding. By donating to my page, you are supporting them to continue to help local people who need their services.
