Thursday 9th Jul My mum didn't have cancer.  She lived with Motor Neurone Disease for nearly 10 years, the first 3 of which were spent on getting a diagnosis.   Throughout this time St Wilfrids offered her amazing support, providing a welcome diversion to what was happening.   The OTs were so comforting and kind, and the pastoral care team helped me keep my sanity.  I remember I went into the St Wilfrids café area one day, looked at the quiet room, went in and just cried.  Within seconds someone was with me, holding my hand, supplying tissues, giving me a cup of tea and just listening while my frustration and upset at the situation we found ourselves in poured out of me. St Wilfrids isn't just about the inpatient care.  It is so much more than that.  Some of the work they do is quite and invisible yet just as important as the obvious stuff.  The whole facility can only run through the support of generous people like you.  Thank you for your donation,  no matter how small.  Chrissie  xx Share
