I'm trekking from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela, following the centuries old paths of pilgrims in support of St Wilfrid's Hospice
St Wilfrid's Hospice (Eastbourne) provides high-quality care and support for people with a life-limiting illness, across Eastbourne, Seaford, Hailsham, Uckfield, Heathfield, and all points in between.To help me raise vital funds for the hospice, please consider donating to my Camino 2027 fundraising page.
The funds raised will help the hospice to protect their services, and ensure people in the community are able to continue receiving their care, at a time when they need it most.

Friday 23rd Jan It is beginning to feel like I'm really doing this now after a first meeting at St Wilfred's with most of the other people who have taken on this challenge. What a smashing bunch of people! Quite a few staff and volunteers at St Wilf's, which is really lovely, as well as a whole range of individuals with their own personal reasons to be doing this. I had thought I was taking part for my Mum, who was cared for here in the final few days off her life, 4 years ago, but I have realised that although it is because of her, I am actually doing it for others. My aim is to raise as much money as possible so that other loved ones and their families can benefit from the same loving care, comfort and support that was freely given to my Mum, Dorothy, and to the rest of our tiny, shell-shocked family unit. I am forever grateful and hope I can help to make someone else's toughest times more bearable. Thank you. Share
