Week 1
Explore the most traditional and best known of all the pilgrims’ ways to Santiago de Compostela
Itinerary
Day 1 - Saturday 17th April
Fly from the UK to Spain. On arrival, transfer to spend your first night in a hotel in Sarria, where you will have dinner and a briefing on the trek to come.
Day 2 - Sunday 18 April
Your walk today is through shady oak woods, pretty villages and along quiet country roads. The village of Barbedelo has a beautiful Romanesque church, which features beautiful art that represents the importance of resurrection and new beginnings. You will then trek on to Portomarin, where you can relax ahead of dinner.

Day 3 - Monday 19th April
Leaving Portomarin, the Camino crosses the River Miño and climbs steadily uphill. Passing through Gonzar and stopping to enjoy the peace and calm in Ligonde. You will continue on to Eirexe before reaching your overnight stop in Palace do Rei.

Day 4 - Tuesday 20th April
Today continues slightly downhill, passing the villages of Casanova and Leboreiro. At Melide there is a chance to stop and try some local specialties, before continuing along a forest track to the village of Voente. Then you will pass through the medieval village of Ribadiso, and finally reach Arzùa where you will stay the night.

Day 5 - Wednesday 21st April
Today's shaded section of the Camino passes through woods, along streams and through sleepy villages. You will have the chance to visit the chapel of Santa Irena, with its unique statues of Santiago. The rest of the way to your overnight stop, Rua Opino, is along a quiet country road.

Day 6 - Thursday 22nd April
Today's the final stage of the trek, firstly to Lavacolla, where pilgrims traditionally washed in the river before reaching Santiago de Compostela. Tall Eucalyptus trees line your way to Monte del Gozo, from where you can see your goal. From there, you will descent into the city to witness the architecture of the Cathedral of Santiago close-up. You will then check into your hotel and relax.

Day 7 - Friday 23rd April
Today is free for you to enjoy at your leisure. Take in the sights of Santiago de Compostela. In the evening, you will attend a celebratory farewell dinner
Day 8 - Saturday 24th April
You will transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
